Arctic Dreams 10" Cooling Gel Mattress by Dreamfoam 13 Oct 2015 18:56 #1

www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013L4ZTDY?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_10&smid=APCUWEOU23BHI

This was recommended by Chuck as a post-surgery daily bed then a once a week or so guest bed. I like super soft beds and this is a 6 on their comfort scale. I was looking to get a latex bed but DreamFoams cheapest latex was quite a bit more in price and quite a bit thinner.

So what do y'all think of this mattress?

Arctic Dreams 10" Cooling Gel Mattress by Dreamfoam 13 Oct 2015 19:54 #2

Hi Mo!,

So what do y'all think of this mattress?

There is more information about the 3 most important parts of the "value" of a mattress purchase in post #13 here which can help you make more meaningful quality/value comparisons between mattresses in terms of suitability (how well you will sleep), durability (how long you will sleep well), and the overall value of a mattress compared to your other finalists based on suitability, durability, and all the other parts of your personal value equation that are most important to you (including the price of course and the options you have available after a purchase to "fine tune" a mattress or the exchange/return options that are available to you).

While I can't speak to how any mattress will "feel" for someone else in terms of firmness or PPP (Posture and alignment, Pressure relief, or Personal preferences) because this is too subjective and relative to different body types, sleeping positions, and individual preferences, sensitivities, and circumstances ... outside of PPP (which is all about how well you will sleep on a mattress) the most important part of the value of a mattress purchase is it's durability and a mattress is only as good as its construction and the quality and durability of the materials inside it (which is all about how long you will sleep well) regardless of the name of the manufacturer on the label.

The Arctic Dreams Cooling Gel mattress uses a 3 lb high performance polyfoam in the comfort layer on top of a 1.8 lb density polyfoam base layer and as you can see in the quality/durability guidelines here these are high quality and durable materials and there are no lower quality materials or weak links in the mattress that would compromise the durability or useful life of the mattress.

There are also some comments about it in this topic and a forum search on Arctic Dreams (you can just click the link) will also bring up some additional comments and feedback about it as well.

This very low budget range typically only includes mattresses that use much lower quality/density and less durable materials than the materials that you would normally find in higher budget mattresses but this mattress is an exception to that and you would be hard pressed to find another mattress in this budget range that uses higher quality and more durable materials.
