Anyone know anything about Bed Gear? 26 Feb 2017 14:29 #1

Hey, I was reading about bedgear (they were in the Boston Globe because they apparently now provide the mattresses for the Boston Red Sox), I searched the forum here but all the posts seemed to be about pillows. Does anyone have experience with their mattresses?
ADMIN NOTE:Removed 404 page link | Archived Footprint: bedgear.com/shop/m1-performance-mattress.html

Looks like 10",
7 inches of foam (doesn't say density)
1.5 inches of their "Boost" tech- looks like some type of latex blend?
1.5 inches of their "react" tech- looks like foam?

Just checking in to see if anyone has experience with them, and if so, do they have the actual specs on the layers?

Thanks.

Hi Cellar-Door,

Welcome to the Mattress Forum! :)

Hey, I was reading about bedgear (they were in the Boston Globe because they apparently now provide the mattresses for the Boston Red Sox), I searched the forum here but all the posts seemed to be about pillows. Does anyone have experience with their mattresses?

I personally don’t have any experience with Bedgear’s new mattresses, but maybe someone more knowledgeable on the forum has been able to find the complete specifications of their new mattress and can share that information.

The M1 has a 7” polyfoam core, but as you mentioned you’d want to find out the density of that material. The next 1.5” layer called React is a memory foam combined with microfibers. The upper 1.5” layer is Boost+, and from the data on their site it seems to be a fill layer of fibers coated with latex, as opposed to an actual layer of latex foam, but I’m unsure of that. Their focus is on airflow in their products. Other products in their line were produced with foams sourced from China, but I’m not sure if that is the case with their mattress.

They do have a marketing focus of working with active people and athletes, but always make sure that you find out the information listed here so you can compare the quality of the materials and components to the durability guidelines here to make sure there are no lower quality materials or weak links in a mattress that would be a cause for concern relative to the durability and useful life of a mattress before making any purchase.

If you’re able to find out any other information from Bedgear I’ll be happy to comment upon those specifications.

Hi Kristi:

Welcome to the Mattress Forum! :)

You may wish to change your name on the site, as spambots comb through various online forums and changing your name from your email will help minimize getting your email on spam lists.

While I appreciate you responding to the request of Cellar-Door, you unfortunately didn’t provide any meaningful information about the product and simply pasted what is listed on your web site.

It would be helpful to Cellar-Door and others curious about your product if you could provide more details about the actual foams used within these two mattresses, including densities (see the information listed here for more clarification), so that members here doing their research may make a more educated decision regarding your offerings.

Manufacturers and retailers or others in the industry are always welcome to post educational information that may help educate and inform members, but any links or references to a specific website will be removed. I know that you work with the PR for BedGear, so I’m hoping that it is easy for you to provide this information, as you do seem to be using some different technologies with the microfibers and it would be interesting to learn about this and how it is combined with the foam, as well as a clearer definition of what Boost+ actually is. Also, it would be nice to know where the foam for these mattresses is produced (China, as in the pillows?).

Thanks for monitoring the forum and I hope you are able to provide the information requested.:)
