One last mention I missed but must share: the free pillows are simply amazing. They provide amazing support along with amazing comfort. Paired with the Luma mattress, they are priceless.
Highly recommend the pillows if you're in the market.
They honestly might be the only pillows I'll ever purchase again.

Hi Shinka,

Thanks for taking the time to post back about your pillows. Many people do enjoy the comfort of a latex pillow, as it can provide support but still contour as well. Did you get the thinner Talalay pillow for back/stomach sleeping, or the slightly thicker Talalay pillow for side sleeping?

I can't tell from Luma's site if they are using natural, synthetic or blended Talalay? Thanks!

Hi sweetandsourkiwi,

Luma Sleep uses only blended Talalay latex in its mattresses, toppers and pillows. The blended formula with the Talalay process provides the most durable and consistent latex available. There is no product feel difference between the blended and natural formulas though all natural latex is bouncier.
Luma's founder was the CEO of Latex International (now called Talalay Global) for 6 years and is an expert on latex foam. He has specified that Luma Sleep use the blended latex formula exclusively for its Talalay latex products. We are not aware of any 100% SBR (referred to as synthetic) Talalay latex. All natural latex Talalay is a fine material, but does not perform as well as the blended formula. If you ask either Talalay Global or Radium Foam, the only 2 Talalay latex producers in the world at this time, they will tell you the same based on the internal testing they do on the materials and formulas.

Hope this helps!

So comparing the first post in this thread to the Luma website today, it looks like some of the mattress specs have changed – particularly in the latex layers. Any comments about that? The site now makes references to 100% natural latex and talalay latex. Does this mean 100% natural talalay and blended talalay? And can you give details about the firmness options? The website gives you choices of plush, medium, and firm, but the spec sheet on the website lists a wider range. Thanks!

Hello The Toddler,
Thank you for reaching our to Luma Sleep! Luma Sleep has updated its mattress line up to include 100% natural latex. Options for 100% natural or blended Talalay latex are available on the Luma Sleep Slumber Systems. 3 options of comfort/firmness are available when you purchase, while additional options are available if you need to make a comfort exchange using Luma Sleep's exclusive free 1-year comfort exchange program.

My understanding is that the "natural" options at Luma are now Dunlop, not NR talalay.

I am curious if the spec sheet will update to reflect different dunlop ILDs (or more helpfully, densities)...or are they really swapping in the same ILD as talalay? Seems that would make their beds much firmer.

Does anyone know if their covers are stretchy? It says it feels like cotton/silk, which I think of as non-stretchy materials.

Thanks so much for the info. Following up on sweetandsourkiwi’s question above: when you say the mattress includes 100% natural latex, are you talking about 100% natural Dunlop or 100% natural Talalay?

Also, can you confirm that you’ve increased the comfort layer in the base mattress from 1.5 inches of latex to 2 inches? And are the ILD choices of plush, medium, and firm the same as on the spec sheet? That is, 21-25, 26-30, and 35-38, respectively?
