Latex mattress in Australia 13 Jan 2022 22:42 #11

I ended up going with the Fern Earth mattress and am happy with the decision. So unfortunately I can't provide any more feedback regarding the other options.

Hi Snoozehound,

Thank you very much for your fast response.

Is Fern Earth the same like Peacelily? I might have read somewhere that they had rebranded their business name but I could be totally wrong.

Would you mind to kindly share your experience with the Fern Earth mattress that you had ended up getting? I am looking to get a queen size.

If what I had read is right, they only produce 1 type of mattress with 20cm thickness (5cm D65, 10cm D85, 5cm D75) and it is flippable (with medium and firm options).

I have not got a chance to inspect the mattress myself since they only have slots on weekdays. I was told that they are currently training a new staff to do a weekend inspection.

I have a few questions for you since you have tried both mattresses:

- How would you rate the firmness of the Fern Earth mattress compare to both the 280 and 240 Natural sleep have in their display showroom.

- How long was the wait time for you to finally receive the mattress? I was told that the waiting time could be as long as 2 months at least, especially since they are manufactured in overseas.

- Like you, I prefer mattress that do not bow. As I might have similar build like you (5'.11.5"" and 68kg), I would like the mattress to provide a strong support, does not bow and yet it is comfortable (soft enough) for my missus to sleep on her side.

- How much did you end up paying for it? I am looking to get a queen size and I think their base price is slightly less compare to the Chiro 240 from natural sleep, if I am not mistaken?

Regards,

It's been at least 3 years since I tried the 240 and 280 mattresses, so I sincerely don't remember how they compared to the FernEarth mattress that I have currently. The only thing that sticks in my mind from that line was that their thickest mattress was too bowing for my tastes. I did not have this problem with the FernEarth. The FernEarth seemed like the ideal combo of soft and firm for me personally. In the end it of is course somewhat subject too, so ideally you'd get to try it out first. The delivery was very swift, but this was awhile back, so maybe their situation is different now? I don't recall what the price was either. No idea whether it's the same as Peacelily. Sorry I can't be of any more help.

Hi Snoozehound,

Many thanks once again for sharing your experience with the FernEarth, actually it really helps a lot.

Your input on the 280 mattress from naturalsleep being too bowing for your taste is greatly appreciated. At least that was what I had also experienced when trying it out in their showroom.

I will definitely follow your suggestion and try to organise an inspection with the FernEarth before making a final decision.
