Is Naturelle Organic Beds misleading?

Hi, I'm in Ontario and I'd like to replace 5 mattresses with something that has no vocs and obviously buying 5 as economical as possible. There is a place called Naturelle near me and I read some concerning posts regarding them but they are far less expensive than the others in my area. My number 1 concern is that the latex is actually synthetic and not natural as they claim. Can anyone speak to that concern?

Thank so much

It seems you're not alone in questioning this, as on this page there are three questions all asking basically the same thing. They clearly state that their latex is organic and that certifications are shown on their site. You should be aware that such organic latex is only of the Dunlop variety, since Talalay can be either "natural" or blended (which includes some synthetic) but not certified organic. Hope this helps!

Thanks so much for your help. I had heard concerns about this company possibly not using what they claim and that the certificates were not actually issued to them. I wasn't concerned with thier customer service but I was concerned that the latex they claim is natural is actually not. I hope it turns out they are selling actual natural Dunlop latex as the price is great

If they are using GOLS latex as stated the latex itself will have a sticker that says it's GOLS Certified. Ask them to provide a picture of that label. If they use zippered covers then it's easy to verify for yourself. Ask them also who the manufacturer is because most dunlop factories do NOT make GOLS certified latex. You can google that company to verify if they make it or not.

Naturelle offers GOLS (Global Organic Latex Standard) thru our Partner Latex Green Private Ltd.....that's a quote from thier website. I'm wondering what that means exactly.

Wow thanks so this looks like maybe all the negative stuff about Naturelle not using natural latex is not based on facts.

Hey Piper.J and others,

Thanks for the post. I just checked the certifications and the Eco-Institute certificate is for Lien A in Vietnam. Lien A is a good company with good products, but it's not GOLS certified and Lien A does not try to claim this. Naturelle makes it seem like this in their website copy - "Our Dunlop supplier, Has achieved Eco Institute certification for the purity of their organic latex."

Secondly, the Gols certificate is for latex from the Sri Lankan company Latex Green. Of course just because a matress brand has a GOLS certificate does not mean they make mattresses with GOLS certified latex. These certificates are good, but anyone can use it on their website.

It is a well-known fact with industry insiders that there are a lot of companies "selling" GOLS certified latex, but the importing data does not verify this same amount of volume.

Ken from Arizona Premium stated:

If they are using GOLS latex as stated the latex itself will have a sticker that says it's GOLS Certified. Ask them to provide a picture of that label.

This label will be on every core they have in stock, it's very easy to take pictures of this label, just ask them to send it out and please upload it to the site. I would be very cautious with this claim, too many red flags, in my humble opinion.

Thanks,
Sensei
