Latex topper should have fixed my problem - it didn't. What next?
I have hip/deep muscle pain in my glutes around my hip. I try to sleep on my back but I always end up on that side and wake up in pain. I've tried pillow top pads, which are too flat, and memory foam, which didn't offer enough support. After asking here, I tried a 3-inch soft talalay latex topper that was meant for side sleepers with hip pain and pressure point problems.
But I've had zero relief from it. If anything, it feels oddly firm in that area and is making it feel numb. I feel like I've run out of options of ways to find relief from my too firm latex mattress. Any ideas? For reference, I'm 140 pounds.
Welcome to the the TMU Forum .
I see that you have several posts regarding your Kiss mattress and support issues, and that you had some feedback from Latex Mattress Factory offering suggestions. To quote a bit from your original post, Topper for old Kiss mattress? , post #1,
I've had the older Kiss mattress for three to four years. I'm in need of a topper to make it softer and discovered Kiss has a new mattress now and no longer offers the optional topper.
I'm a side sleeper and have been finding the Kiss mattress too firm and I wake up a lot with sore hips. I've since tried two different-sized cotton pillow top pads (2 and 4 inches), but they didn't do a thing and flattened quickly (for reference, I'm a lighter person). I then tried a 3-inch memory foam topper, but it actually triggered old injuries while annoying my current ones - my guess is it was too thick or not the right thing to go with the Kiss mattress.
Do you have any recommendations?
I'm sure that @SleepEZ would like a chance to respond to your questions as well, I would also like to move your current post to the General Forum space for other consumers' point of view, if that is good with you…
The topper is certainly better with my back and it's better on my hips than just the mattress itself...it's still just too much uncomfortable pressure. But if it's my wide hips...anything I can do about that?
