Sorry for the multiple posts but I should mention we had no intention of spending as much as we did on the Naturepedic EOS Classic Pillow tops. It is an outrageous amount of money. However after we tried the others and really wanted a soft bed this was the only way to do it without foam. The microcoils are super comfortable. So if you aren't spending the money because you think it is outrageous, but you have the money, I suggest you just jump right to the Naturepedic Classic or Pillow top. We started wtih the Classic and then upgrade to the Pillow top. When you are lying on the bed you can tell it is a high quality mattress. Also once you buy one if in a couple of years your needs change they will allow you to buy just the layer you want to change out. Lets say you start with a medium micro could and then want a soft you can buy just that layer. Same thing with the base layer. During the swap out period you can swap any of the layers. And they were very cooperative extending the evaluation period for us to continue swapping as their 90 trial period is too short if they send you the wrong mattress first like they did for us.

The Denver store is offering 20% off. I would have loved this discount when we bought. They do phone orders so you can call and order through them. The mattresses are shipped directly from the factory so the store isn't involved. Returns are donations to an approved charity with photos of the mattress on the truck. So you don't use the store for that either. You can find their web site on-line. I don't know if the other regional stores are also offering a discount.

So I ended up buying the Pure Echo. A few days of offgassing in the direct sunlight and the initial wool/cotton smell dissipated enough to be tolerable, so I am very thankful for that. It is indeed too firm. I now need to figure out if I am going to try a topper, and if I am going to try a new mattress. I am really happy I found one that doesn't smell like chemicals but I also know its way too firm. I have a few options. I can try one of the toppers mentioned by @marshmallowforme(all expensive!). Or I could try the latex topper from mygreenmattress and air it out thoroughly in the sun. I initially wanted to avoid latex because the happsy stunk so much, but now I don't know. I definitely need something more plush for my thin, lanky build. I have the option of exchanging for the natural escape as well. I think I'll try and find a tolerable topper, if that fails consider the natural escape with lots of sun exposure to off gas any odors. Thoughts? How would the natural escape compare to say the Pure Echo + the topper from MGM(assuming I can tolerate it with thorough offgassing). Thanks all.

Latex will always have an odor. We had it for 13 yrs. Airing it in the sun will probably make it worse. I think I saw a latex manufacturer complain about people airing it in the sun and causing it to smell worse. I think some people get used to it and don't smell it after a while. But if you are sensitive to odors like me it will always smell.

Got it. Well, it seems that the naturepedic wool one you posted is the best one I can find. Unfortunately the price.. I need to save up!

Sine you have been so helpful for me, got any suggestions for a duvet? Do you know of any all cotton or wool duvets? Thanks!

No duvet suggestions but I do like Cottonloft comforters. They are cotton filled cotton and wear like iron. Amazon, Kohls and Walmart.com sell them. Often they get a better stock around Christmas but then the rest of the year you have reduced colors and sizes.

If you need new sheets the Pinzon organic cotton sheets from Amazon are fantastic. I like them better than the naturepedic organic sheets that came with my mattress.

I'm a bit tempted by the Joybed cotton filled cotton topper but unfortunately with the naturepedic pillowtop mattress and a mattress pad I don't think I could fit it under the sheets even though the Amazon sheets are very generous in depth and have excellent elastic for holding them on. Also very soft.

If you end up getting either the wool or cotton topper I would love to hear your thoughts on them.

I received the topper today. It does smell. I could smell it from quite a distance away. Definitely not going to work, unfortunately. I'll have to wait until finances get better then go for that Wooly topper.
