Looking at Hybrid Latex Replacing Memory Foam 25 Aug 2019 16:39 #1

Hello,

I posted on here a couple months back when I was originally planning on buying a mattress, but never ended up going through with it. this time, I am ready to order and sleep on something comfortable. Currently, have a memory foam mattress and I am 5'10 180 pounds. Side and back sleeper.

I am looking at a hybrid latex for my mattress to be cooler as its hot where I live. My current build I am looking at is the 8inch combi zone coils with 3" Blended Talalay Latex Mattress Topper 28ILD for a medium feel. The only thing I am hesitant about it the 8inch coils and if I should go for the 6inch coils, but they are not combi zone. The reason being is if my 28ILD 3" Blended Talalay topper ends up being too firm or too soft, I was planning on another 2inch layer that will make my mattress 13 inches tall. A little taller than I want it to be.

For my body and sleeping type, do you think the 8inch combi zone coils and 3" Blended Talalay Latex Mattress Topper 28ILD will fit me well? I was planning on just using a blanket below my coils for starters in case I add another layer then order my cover. Or, would it be better to go 8inch coils with 2 2inch layers of foam? I would only start off with 1 2inch layer to begin with and wasn't sure if I would feel the coils through it.

If you think a full latex is better, I am open to potentially going this route. I am mainly going hybrid for the cooler feel.

If going with the 8" I would do a 2" 28 plus 2" 19 at the same time. One 2" isn't going to keep you from going through to the coil. If you are building a King or Queen size then I think our 6" Bolsa spring would give you the option of starting with the 3" Medium talalay and adding a 2" later if necessary and still keep the bed under 12" - www.mattresses.net/quedelbo.html It's a great spring from someone your size.
