Trying to find alternative to 2016 Dreamfoam Ultimate Dreams 10" (discontinued) 07 Feb 2020 09:25 #1

Hi. My wife recently slept on a Dreamfoam Ultimate Dreams 10" mattress that she loved. I've been trying to track one down but they don't make them anymore. It was made by Brooklyn Bedding but sold by Dreamfoam.

From the original description ( https://www.dreamfoambedding.com/product/ultimate-dreams-10-gel-memory-foam-mattress/via wayback machine ):
3" 4lb Gel Memory Foam
7" 1.8lb HD Poly Foam

Dreamfoam said the closest mattress is their 12" Meridian:
  • 1” top layer of gel memory foam for optimal cooling and comfort.
2” layer of slow response memory foam for added contouring.
1” transition layer of firmer memory foam for added support.
8” high-density foundation to give the mattress structural firmness as well as a durable core.
Some of the reviews say the Meridian is a little softer. I'm looking to keep the firmness that the two layer Ultimate Dreams has. Closest thing I have found is an Ashley 10" Chime on Amazon ( www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BNS7RDC ).

Anyone have any recommendations for a mattress that comes close to the firmness and build of the 10" Ultimate Dreams? Or since I have a 3" 4lb visco elastic memory foam topper, should i look for a 1.8lb poly foam base mattress? I'm guessing our pillow top is not firm enough which is what the main problem is.

Current Mattress:
Original Mattress Factory Orthopedic Pillow Top (had 3" 4lb visco elastic memory foam topper but wife was uncomfortable so took it off, still not comfortable).

The problem is both 1.8 poly and 4 lb. memory foam can come in multiple firmness (ILD) choices. That's the info you need the most to duplicate what you liked. Perhaps Dreamfoam or Brooklyn could provide that info?
