Dormeo 6800 or silk and snow mattress 10 Jun 2018 12:54 #1

Hi there, I have been on a long search for a mattress I can be happy with for a reasonable amount of time, that wont sag horribly after 6 months to a few years. I have tried quite a few, I currently have a 2 year old kingdown that is horribly saggy and want to get something I wont regret buying. I have come across the dormeo 6800, and though it is quite comfortable, I cant seem to find all the information on densities. The top layer is 1" of 5 lb memory foam, and the ecosprings appear to be 5 lb density also, the ecocell 5"base is 2 lb density...and am not sure about the .5" ecocell support layers in between the springs. Even with this information it is not directly from dormeo si I am unsure of accuracy.
The silk and snow is 6" of 1.8 polyfoam, with 2" responsive high performance 2.7 foam, then 2" 4 lb memory foam.
The silk and snow is almost half the price of the dormeo, so I guess my questions are, how long do you suspect these will last, do you know of any weak spots that may make one choice better than the other. What is the likelyhood of sagging.
I dont mind spending the extra money on the dormeo if it will stand the test of time, but I am unsure of the durability of the "springs", or the ecocell transition layers.
I am a side sleeper but also move a lot and change positions. I have a herniated c7 disc along with a compressed disc in my lower back so I am looking for good support and reasonable pressure relief. My husband and I are both around the 150 lb mark, and we are looking to get a king.

@droidx - Think I might have the solution for you. The "New Topic" button only seems to be an available option when you're in the Expert Member Section at the top level of a member's section. Here's a link to that level in this Dormio section as an example where you should see the green "New Topic" button: https://www.themattressunderground.com/mattress-forum/dormio-organic-beds.html Logically this makes some sense since the top level is where it would be suitable to create a new topic. Hope this helps!

thanks. I appreciate it. I was watching the video at this link... www.themattressunderground.com/videos/create_new_topic.mp4
and it seems the topic button should be everywhere else too.

HI Alleygray, Thank you for your question. Please note that Dormeo is a different company than Dormio Organic Beds. At Dormio, we use only 100% natural dunlop latex in our mattresses. This latex is arguably the most durable material to use, so if you are looking for long term service life from your mattress, it is the best choice. We have a ton of information on our websites "learn" page -- please have a look and let me know if I can answer any further questions.

If you search Dormeo on TMU's search box on the top right section of any page, you will find that there has been much written about Dormeo in TMU and that there are previous posts that may make sense for your to post into (as your interest in Dormeo may related) This will "activate" an existing post thread history vs. creating a new topic, and it will help future visitors who come to TMU.

Just an idea to possibly help you and help Phoenix with topic organization!
