Savvy Rest was created by bones
Hello
I have a 3 layer Savvey Rest latex mattress. I'm a side sleeper @5'8"/190lbs,70 yrs old. Also have cronic hip pain
First layering was :
Soft Talalay,Soft Dunlop,Med Dunlop which gave me hip pain.
Second layering is:
Soft Talalay,Soft Talalay,Med Dunlop which is releiving the hip pain for the most part.
Now however I wake up with a slight back pain that goes away with activity.Sort of classic for a too soft mattress. It seems to be an iota away from enough support.
My inkling is to change the second layer for Med Talalay or the bottom layer for Firm Dunlop.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks

Depending on your foundation, another option I would try is Medium Dunlop, Soft Talalay; 6'' total. If you can feel slats underneath, you can try it on the floor to simulate Firm Dunlop on the bottom,

Hello Bones,

Thank you for reaching out to Luma Sleep via The Mattress Underground. We are unclear how your original/current configurations were selected, but the most apparent issue is the lack of a latex layer with sufficient density to serve as the support system. You are on the right track in looking to replace a soft layer with a firm layer. Ideal latex designs are progressive firmness where the top layer is the softest/lowest density and the bottom layer is the firmest/highest density. We recommend you speak with Savvy Rest and get their advice base on your unique physical specifications and sleeping preferences. They know their product best and should be your most reliable resource.

Hope this helps!

That is the configuration now
The medium Dunlop on the bottom may not be firm enough to provide enough support for the two talalay top layers

Bones, I really think 6'' Medium Dunlop, Soft Talalay might work well for you. Why don't you give it a try; don't worry about the cover being a bit loose.

Hello again bones,

If there's not cost to you to keep experimenting or the cost is not an issue, then happycat8's suggestion may be worth exploring.
If you have one more shot and really need to get the layering right, Reach out to Savvy Rest. Involving them may also give you additional options.
Good luck!

Thanks for your input
Cost is an issue but it is irrelevant where comfort is concerned
Oddly enough, changing pillows from buckwheat to shredded foam helped a little
Secondly, one night is fine the next is problematic
Maybe I’m just old
Going to wait a few more weeks to let my body adjust to the current configuration
FYI went with Savvey Rest because they are a local small business and have access to them at any time
Always ask for a second opinion
Thanks

Bones and Luma, my suggestion has no cost involved, since you already have those layers. Soft Talalay on top should be soft enough for your hip and shoulder. At 190 lb, one medium Dunlop layer below would result in minimal sagging, hopefully giving you proper contouring. This will also give you a better idea how to proceed.
